Nissan Will Unveil the All-New Z On August 17 In New York
The latest member of Nissan’s legendary Z family will officially be unveiled on August 17, 2021 Nissan announced today. The unveiling will take place at an event in New York City, according to the Japanese brand.
The new Z car was first previewed with the Z Proto concept that was unveiled in September 2020. It features a twin-turbocharged V6 and a six-speed manual as well as handsome, classic sports-coupe proportions.

“Our designers made countless studies and sketches as we researched each generation and what made them a success,” said Alfonso Albaisa, Nissan’s head of design at the time. “Ultimately, we decided the Z Proto should travel between the decades, including the future.”
Since then, speculation has abounded about just how much of the concept’s design will make it into production. Blessedly, leaked pictures suggest that the production version of the car will be very similar to the concept, keeping much of its overall design spirit.
Initially, we believed that Nissan would call the car the 400Z, but an anonymous source claiming to have insider information wrote in March that the car would simply be called the Z in all markets except for Japan, where it would be called the Fairlady Z.

The same source claimed that the Z would start at $34,995 in the US. That would mean it costs $16,950 less than the Toyota Supra 3.0 and $7,950 less than the Supra 2.0. With an expected output of 400 hp, it would also have a power advantage over the BMW-based Supra.
Stay tuned for the upcoming teasers that will inevitably accelerate as we near the unveiling of the Nissan Z (for which order books are rumored to open in November). And come back on Tuesday, August 17 for all the details on the brand new car.
