2018 Mazda6 Long-Term Test Concludes With Mostly Positive Feedback
Billed as one of the best cars in the mid-size segment, the Mazda6 offers good practicality and sleek styling, both inside and out, in a package that could pass as a premium car for decent money.
The 2020MY has an MSRP of $24,000 for the base Sport grade, which goes up to $26,600 and $29,700 for the Touring and Grand Touring models, respectively. The Grand Touring Reserve starts at $32,200, and for the range-topping Signature, you’ll have to shell out at least $35,300.

KBB drove the 2018 Mazda6 Signature for 10 months. Their car cost $35,720 and they were pleased by the design, build quality and amenities available, such as the keyless access, dynamic cruise control and blind spot monitoring. During this time, they put 10,488 miles (16,879 km) on the odometer and averaged 25.54 mpg (9.2 l/100 km), which is not far from the official EPA estimate of 23 city and 31 highway (10.2-7.6 l/100 km).
Their mid-size sedan came with the more powerful 2.5-liter turbocharged four that makes 250 HP and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque on premium fuel, instead of the 187 HP and 186 lb-ft (252 Nm) 2.5-liter naturally aspirated unit. It was found to be quite joyful to drive, with playful handling, although not everything was peachy during their tenure with it.
Their Mazda6 had a rather annoying issue with the steering that made the wheel jiggle while the car was standing still, which was fixed.
